Elders Training Courses

The URC has rolled out a new training programme for Elders which was highlighted at our recent Area meeting in June.  It is not solely for URC Elders but open to anyone who holds a similar role in their church.  To remind anyone interested, the URC website gives this summary:

Synod Ministries Deployment Sub Committee has developed a new training programme focusing on the elders’ role in spiritual leadership of local churches. This enables groups of elders to learn, reflect and discuss their roles with a skilled facilitator.  It is being rolled out across the Synod in Spring 2025 so look out for the flyers  and dates in your area. 

For anyone interested there is one date remaining in the CSUA to engage with this training.  It will be held on Saturday, 25^th October 10.30 – 13.30 at Broadway Church, The Broadway, Eastbourne BN22 0AS.  Again, parking is available at the church and Hampden Park railway station is a 15 minute walk from the church

Feedback from across the URC following earlier training sessions has been that people have found the course extremely helpful, thought provoking while not being too challenging, an excellent time of fellowship, a help on their spiritual journey and helped them get back to what being an Elder/Steward really means.

 We hope that you will find it helpful and also enjoy a time of fellowship with others from across the Area that you might not meet very often – a great time to share ideas!
